My Disheartening Journey with PT. Layanan Pengadaan Indonesia (LPI) – A Lesson in Talent Management
June 8, 2022, was a day I had eagerly awaited for so long. It was the day I signed my talent management contract with PT. Layanan Pengadaan Indonesia (LPI). I believed it was the beginning of a beautiful partnership that would propel my ballet career to new heights. Little did I know that this journey would take an unexpected and disheartening turn.
The Dream Come True
Signing a management contract had been a dream come true for me. I envisioned LPI as not just a management agency but a gateway to opportunities that would support my passion for ballet. My hopes soared high, as I imagined the possibilities of securing sponsorships and engaging in exciting projects to not only nurture my talent but also provide financial stability. In the beginning, I was ecstatic, thinking that I had found not just a professional association but an extended family who cared for me as much as I cared for them. I genuinely loved and trusted them.
The Departure to Miami, Florida
Couple of months later, after signing the contract, I left for Miami, Florida.. We came with high expectations, hopes, and dreams for the future. We were not alone in this journey; our beloved Senior Pastor, Ps. Jesaya Henubau, had sent a representative to stand by our side, supporting us through prayers and blessings to guide us on this new chapter. We wanted to demonstrate to LPI just how serious and meaningful this partnership was to us.
The Harsh Reality Unveiled
However, it didn’t take long for the harsh reality to unravel. Instead of the promised support and care, I felt neglected and scammed. The emotions I experienced were overwhelming – sadness, embarrassment, disappointment, anger, and the overwhelming feeling of being neglected. It hurt deeply every time I recalled this day.
A Lesson in Trust and Naivety
This experience has been a hard-learned lesson for me. I was young and naive, believing that the world was a beautiful place and that people, at their core, were kind and good. I had learned to trust easily and to see the best in others, even when they showed me otherwise. But this experience with LPI shattered that belief.
In retrospect, my journey with PT. Layanan Pengadaan Indonesia (LPI) was a painful lesson in trust and naivety. While it began with high hopes and dreams, it ended in disappointment and heartache. However, I choose to see this experience as an opportunity for personal growth and resilience. I’ve learned not to trust people blindly and to be more cautious in my dealings. As I continue my ballet career, I carry with me the lessons learned from this experience, knowing that they will only make me stronger and wiser in pursuing my dreams.
In the end, it’s not just the triumphs but also the trials that shape us into the individuals we are meant to become. And with the right mindset, we can turn even the most disheartening experiences into stepping stones toward a brighter future.
