My First Experience Playing Pickleball with Pathway Young Adults
I recently had the opportunity to join my bible study community, Pathway Young Adults, for a game of pickleball. It was my first time ever playing the sport, and I was a bundle of nerves and excitement. To be honest, I didn’t even know what pickleball was before that day. The idea of jumping into a game I knew nothing about was daunting, but the thrill of trying something new kept my spirits high.
Walking onto the court, I felt a mix of trepidation and eagerness. How was I supposed to play this game? I had no clue about the rules, techniques, or even how to hold the paddle correctly. Thankfully, my friends from Pathway Young Adults were incredibly supportive. They were patient, encouraging, and ready to guide me through each step.
As we started playing, my friends explained the basics of pickleball: a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. We played on a smaller court with a lower net, which made the game accessible and less intimidating. They showed me how to serve, hit the ball, and most importantly, how to have fun with it.
Despite my initial clumsiness, everyone cheered me on. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and soon, I found myself laughing and enjoying the game. I really didn’t care if I looked so silly, I just wanted to enjoy and had so much fun. Each serve and return became less about technique and more about camaraderie and shared joy. The supportive atmosphere turned what could have been a stressful experience into an exciting adventure.
Playing pickleball with Pathway Young Adults was more than just a new activity—it was a testament to the power of community. Every week, we embark on new and exciting adventures together, whether it’s through sports, study sessions, or social gatherings. This time, it was pickleball; next time, who knows? The constant in all our activities is the incredible sense of togetherness and the unwavering support we provide each other.
I am beyond grateful for Pathway Young Adults. The friends I have made in this community have become like family to me. They encourage me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new experiences with open arms. Each meeting, each activity, and each moment spent together is a reminder of the blessings of fellowship.
In the end, my first experience playing pickleball was a delightful blend of learning, laughter, and love. I look forward to many more adventures with Pathway Young Adults, knowing that whatever comes our way, we will face it together. Here’s to more fun, more challenges, and more memories with this wonderful community!
