Embarking on my journey to The Harid Conservatory in Florida for the Summer Intensive program was an exhilarating experience in itself. Little did I know that my time there would include my very first celebration of the 4th of July, the iconic American Independence Day. The Joy of Firsts
As a newcomer to the United States, everything about the 4th of July was a novelty for me. The vibrant atmosphere, the patriotic fervor, and the anticipation of the day’s festivities were infectious. Attending the Summer Intensive program at The Harid Conservatory was a stroke of luck, as it meant I would be celebrating this significant day with my newfound family away from home.
Spanish River Athletic Park Adventure
Our chosen venue for the day’s festivities was the Spanish River Athletic Park – a perfect setting for a day filled with fun, camaraderie, and of course, a bit of our unique version of “playing ball.” The park provided a picturesque backdrop for our celebration, surrounded by lush greenery and the warm Florida sun.

Our idea of “playing ball” may not have followed the conventional rules of any sport, but it was a blend of laughter, joy, and an enthusiastic spirit.
