A Ballet Journey – From Dance Prix Indonesia Finalist to Ballet Legacy Master Class in Bozeman, Montana
April 13-14, 2018, marked a pivotal moment in my life as I stood on the stage as a finalist at the prestigious Dance Prix Indonesia. The exhilaration of reaching the finals filled my heart, and little did I know, this was just the beginning of an extraordinary journey that would shape my ballet career in ways I could have never imagined.
Despite not clinching the top spot, being a finalist at Dance Prix Indonesia was a turning point for me. Little did I know that this experience would open doors to an opportunity that would propel me one step further in my ballet journey. The universe had a plan, and it was about to unfold in the most magical way possible.
The turning point came in the form of a scholarship offer to attend the Ballet Legacy Master Class in Bozeman, Montana, USA, in August 2018. The mere thought of this incredible opportunity left me both excited and nervous. I was about to embark on a journey that would not only enhance my ballet skills but also take me to a place I had only dreamed of.
The Ballet Legacy Master Class was a chance for me to refine my craft, and I was assigned the beautiful Yvestalka variation from Paquita to dance. It was an honor and a challenge that I eagerly embraced. Little did I know that this experience would be a stepping stone towards my growth as a dancer.
However, seizing this opportunity was no easy feat. The financial burden of such an endeavor was substantial, and it required sacrifices and determination. My incredible mother, recognizing the significance of this chance for my ballet journey, spared no effort to make it happen. She invested not just money but also her unwavering support and belief in my potential.
The journey to the USA was not just a dance excursion; it was a profound and life-changing experience. For the first time ever, I ventured overseas, immersing myself in a new culture and connecting with fellow dancers from around the world. It was an enriching experience that went beyond the dance studio, broadening my horizons and fueling my passion for ballet.
As I look back on this incredible journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities that unfolded and the sacrifices made, especially by my mom. Her determination and support transformed a dream into reality, and I will forever cherish the memories of those two weeks in Bozeman, Montana.
To my dearest mom, thank you for the immense investment you made in my ballet journey. Your belief in me has been my greatest strength, and this experience has not only shaped my career but has also enriched my life in ways words cannot express. Here’s to the countless pirouettes of gratitude for the dance of a lifetime!
