A Dream Come True – My First Overseas Trip to Montana, USA
Summer 2018 marked a monumental milestone in my life – my first ever overseas trip. The mere thought of venturing beyond the borders of my home country had always been a distant dream, one that seemed almost too grand to ever materialize. But in 2018, that dream became a glorious reality as I embarked on a journey to Montana, USA.
The reason behind this extraordinary voyage was equally exhilarating. Through the Dance Prix Indonesia competition, I was awarded a scholarship to participate in the Ballet Legacy Master Class program in Bozeman, Montana. For a passionate dancer like myself, this opportunity was nothing short of a dream come true.
From the moment I set foot in Montana, every experience was imbued with a sense of enchantment. The picturesque landscapes, the vibrant culture, and the warm hospitality of the people all contributed to making this trip an unforgettable adventure.
However, amidst all the excitement, there was one particular moment that stood out as truly magical. Imagine my astonishment when I discovered that we would be staying at the residence of none other than Hollywood actor James Denton. While I must confess that I wasn’t familiar with his work at the time, my mother – a devoted fan of his portrayal of Mike Delfino in the renowned TV series “Desperate Housewives” – was beside herself with joy. The fact that we would be sleeping in his own bedroom seemed almost surreal, a testament to the serendipitous nature of life’s twists and turns.
Reflecting on this incredible journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude towards my mother, whose unwavering support and determination made this trip possible. I am also deeply thankful to the Indonesia Dance Society for granting me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Above all, I am filled with a profound sense of awe and reverence towards the divine orchestrator of it all – the Lord Jesus. It is through His boundless grace and unfailing love that such extraordinary blessings have been bestowed upon me. Indeed, I am abundantly blessed beyond measure.
As I look back on my first overseas adventure, I am reminded that dreams do come true, often in the most unexpected and wondrous ways. And so, with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit brimming with anticipation, I eagerly await the next chapter of my journey, knowing that with faith and perseverance, anything is possible.
