NaDWorC 2018 Finalist

My passion for ballet propelled me into a whirlwind of emotions and experiences as I found myself as a finalist at the prestigious National Dance Workshop and Competition (NaDWorC).

The Exhausting Yet Thrilling Journey

The excitement leading up to NaDWorC was palpable, but it was met with exhaustion as I had just landed that very morning from a long flight home from Montana. Jetlag threatened to dampen my spirits, but miraculously, I found myself untouched by its grasp. The adrenaline of the upcoming competition fueled my energy as I headed straight from the airport to the enchanting Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, the venue for this momentous event.

Montana Magic

Montana, USA, held the key to my first overseas adventure, and it was nothing short of magical. The landscapes, the people, and the overall experience became a cherished memory. Despite the fatigue from travel, the enchantment of Montana lingered and served as a surreal backdrop to the journey that lay ahead.

Dancing Twice at Semi-Finals

The Semi-Finals were a showcase of both my stamina and determination. Exhausted but exhilarated, I took the stage twice, performing both the free and compulsory variations. Each step, each movement, was a testament to the dedication that had brought me to this international platform. The Semi-Finals became a platform to demonstrate not only my technical prowess but also my ability to push through physical and mental challenges.

The Grand Finale

The Final day arrived, and with it, a mix of nerves and anticipation. Despite the fatigue, I approached the stage with a newfound vigor, ready to leave an indelible mark. The Final featured a singular performance, and I chose to present the compulsory variation. Every leap and turn resonated with the culmination of months of rigorous training and the sheer joy of being part of such a prestigious competition.

An Amazing Experience

Though my journey at NaDWorC reached its zenith at the Finals, the entire experience was a victory in itself. As a finalist, I not only showcased my talent but also discovered a reservoir of strength within me. The applause, the camaraderie among fellow dancers, and the sheer thrill of being part of such a prestigious event made every moment worthwhile.

The exhaustion melted away in the face of the incredible experience, leaving behind memories etched in the canvas of my ballet journey. As I reflect on that magical August, I am reminded that sometimes, the most extraordinary adventures arise when we least expect them.
